PSL 8: Waqar calls Shaheen's decision to promote himself in batting 'wrong'

Captain's Bounty Entertainment Official Link Waqar Younis (L) and Shaheen Afridi (R) - Twitter/PCBFormer Test cricketer Waqar Younis criticised Lahore Qalandars' skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi's decision to promote himself in batting during crucial contest against Multan Sultans on Wednesday. Sultans bowled out Qalandars for a paltry 79 runs after setting them up to chase 161 runs.  Once again during this year's Pakistan Super League (PSL), Shaheen promoted himself in the batting order. During an important qualifier match in Lahore, Shaheen, who is considered a tail-ender, came to bat at number five when Qalandars were already struggling with a score of 19-3. During commentary, Waqar highlighted Shaheen's decision and called it "wrong"."It's totally a wrong decision to promote yourself in batting when you already have proper batters left," the cricketer-turned-commentator pointed out. "It's like giving a new ball to someone else than Shaheen. How will he feel then? I think Sikandar Raza and others were there to bat, you can't take such a decision in a big game like this," he added. Shaheen went out for a duck off two balls. Qalandars were four down for 28 runs after Shaheen's wicket. The defending champions were bowled out for just 79 runs which pushed them to contest in eliminator 2, scheduled on March 17 at the same venue.Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi will meet each other in the first eliminator on March 16. Meanwhile, the Sultans will rest for three days before playing their third consecutive PSL final under the leadership of Mohammad Rizwan.  Comments Submit مضمون کا ماخذ:بہت کچھ
